The City of Fountain Valley Recreation and Community Services Division offers an outstanding selection of classes, lessons, youth and adult sports leagues, summer day camps, social events and more. Seniors enjoy a variety of activities and events at the Founders Village Senior and Community Center.
Mile Square Regional Park
A treasure for all of Orange County, Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley encompasses 640 acres of land dedicated to a variety of uses, including three golf courses, two soccer fields, baseball and softball diamonds, two fishing lakes, an archery range, picnic shelters and a wilderness area. A portion of the park offers many City of Fountain Valley-operated recreational facilities including a tennis center. The Fountain Valley Recreation Center features basketball courts, sand volleyball courts and handball courts outside, plus a gymnasium, social hall, recreation room and racquetball courts inside.
Never Far from Where You Want To Be
With quick access to major arterials and the 405 Freeway, San Marino residents will benefit from having many popular and essential Orange County destinations an easy drive from home: South Coast Plaza and the Orange County Performing Arts Center, approx. 10 to 12 minutes; the beach, Huntington Beach Pier and John Wayne Airport, approx. 15 minutes; and Disneyland, Fashion Island, Newport Center, Irvine Spectrum and Irvine Spectrum Center, approx. 20 minutes.
An Emphasis on Education
San Marino children will attend Urbain Plavan Elementary School and Kazuo Masuda Middle School in the highly regarded Fountain Valley School District as well as Fountain Valley High School, a California Distinguished School in the Huntington Beach Union High School District. Many colleges and universities are nearby, including Coastline, Golden West and Orange Coast Community Colleges, National University, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach and UC Irvine. Private colleges are located close by as well.
